Artist Statement
“Yet again, this virus which has plagued everyone all year, has forced us to rearrange our winter dates. We’re going stir crazy! The only thing we want is to get back out on the road and do what we love and what we’re good at. See you all in 2021!” Robin Campbell UB40
UB40 are a British pop and reggae act from Birmingham, currently consisting of James Brown, Duncan Campbell, Robin Campbell, Earl Falconer, Norman Hassan, Martin Meredith, Tony Mullings, Laurence Parry and Brian Travers.. The band's name comes from the tax code on an unemployment form!
Formed in 1978, the band have released 18 albums, including their debut album, 1990's ’Signing Off’, which hit #2 in the UK Album Chart, as well as their fourth LP, ‘Labour of Love’, which hit the top spot in 1983, and #8 in the Billboard Hot 200, and included the track Red Red Wine. The band released their latest album, 'For The Many', in 2019.
In 2008, frontman Ali Campbell left the band, followed by keyboardist Mickey Virtue and Astro in 2013, who are now part of the group UB40 with Ali, Astro and Mickey.
UB40 will take their 50th anniversary tour to Australia in the spring, and follow up with a UK arena tour throughout 2021. Catch them live in Blackpool.
