Bringing Music Back
02 July 2022
Blackpool Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1921 and has been entertaining the people of the Fylde Coast for 100 years.
Their centenary celebrations have had to be postponed due to the Covid 19 crisis but they are back from July 2022 with a varied year of concerts in prestigious venues across the area.
They are delighted to be joined at the start of their centenary+1 season by international soloist Alexandra Stemp who will play one of the most popular pieces in the violin repertoire, Mendelssohn's violin concerto. Alexandra was born and raised in Blackpool before leaving to play with many of the major orchestras in this country and abroad but she is thrilled to be back in her home town for this evening.
