A hip-shaking tribute show is about to hit Blackpool from the US this Sunday 19th May, bringing together two first class American acts backed by a live band and orchestra, and featuring a special UK act.
Shawn Klush, holder of titles including The World’s Greatest Elvis on BBC One and Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion in Memphis, Tennessee, first began performing in his home state of Pennsylvania. He toured Canada before being cast as Elvis in the famous Las Vegas show Legends in Concert. Hailed “the closest to The King in concert” by titles such as The Chicago Tribune, The Las Vegas Sun and Newsweek Magazine, Shawn portrayed Elvis in the American TV series Vinyl, produced by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, Rich Cohen and Terence Winter.
Fellow lookalike and winner of the EPE’s (Elvis Presley Enterprises) Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest 2013 Dean Z is new to the show and performs songs from the early years of Elvis. Like Shawn, he has appeared as Elvis in Legends in Concert. Hooked on the King since the age of three, Dean Z’s devotion to impersonating Elvis has taken him across the world. The first song he sang on stage was Jailhouse Rock, and Dean is quoted as saying: “Every time I shook the audience would scream, and I’ve been shaking ever since."
UK tribute act Ben Thompson will feature as a special guest. Also a worldwide success, the 2018 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion starred as Elvis in the 2017 sequel film Bladerunner 2049, alongside Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. Career highlights include performing with Elvis's original backing singers, The Sweet Inspirations, and at Elvis Week in Memphis.
