MANFORD’S CROWD KARAOKE PARTY!
Another exciting event has today been announced as part of Manford’s Blackpool Comedy Festival, taking place at Winter Gardens Blackpool this May.
An After-show Crowd Karaoke is set to take place in the Arena, Winter Gardens on Friday 10 May, following the Jason Manford & Friends show which is taking place in the Opera House.
The Manford’s Crowd Karaoke event will feature an amazing live band for the crowd to sing along to, guided by big on-screen lyrics. No dreaded spotlight here, everyone can sing their hearts out together!
Crowd Karaoke was created so that people can sing and dance together. It really doesn’t matter if you can sing or not! Or even dance! What we do know for SURE, is that singing with other people is incredible fun. A funny thing happens you feel like you’re all working towards something together and it is exhilarating.
Jason Manford said: ‘What better way is there to finish a great night of comedy, other than with a great big crowd karaoke sing-a-long?! Whether you can sing or not, join us in the arena for the after-show party and let’s all belt out some classics together!’
A portion of the ticket sales from the After-show Karaoke event are to be donated to two local Blackpool charities.
Brian House, which provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people who have a life-limiting condition. Many people are surprised to learn that it costs over £1 million a year to provide this specialist level of care. Without the very generous support of the local community, they wouldn’t be able to provide care to the Fylde Coast’s most fragile children.
Chloe Rossall, Community Fundraiser said: ‘We are so excited to be involved with Manford’s Comedy Festival as one of the chosen charities and are really looking forward to taking part in the karaoke. Just like Jason, we are all about having fun and making memories for our children, so our staff and volunteers are thrilled to have the opportunity to get involved with this event ’
Established in 1982, Streetlife is an organisation which assists vulnerable young people in Blackpool, a lot of whom access the service as homeless. Their aim is to enable and empower these young people to make informed choices about issues affecting their lives. They provide support – for those up to the age of 26 – from The Base, the Day Centre and Night Shelter, which serves as emergency accommodation for those who need it most.
Fran Sullivan said – “Street Life are delighted to be chosen as a beneficiary of Manford’s Karaoke event and our staff, volunteers and young people are extremely excited at the prospect of flexing our vocal chords.”
