Three new events have today been released as part of Manford’s Blackpool Comedy Festival taking place at Winter Gardens Blackpool this May.
But first, a special announcement!
One of Australia’s biggest stars, Adam Hills, will be joining the line-up with John Bishop on Sat 11 May in the Opera House.
Adam is currently the host of Channel 4’s critically acclaimed entertainment show, The Last Leg and now he’s heading to Blackpool!
There will be two Late Shows over the weekend on the Friday and Saturday nights.
On Friday 10 May you can see hilarious comedians Freddy Quinne, Jenny Collier, Vince Atta, Simon Lomas and Dane Baptiste in the Pavilion.
On Saturday 11 May you can catch a second Late Show featuring Kate Smurthwaite, Danny McLoughlin, Tayo Cousins and Steve Shanyaski.
Both shows will take place following the Opera House shows.
Sunday 12 May will see George Egg: DIY Chef take to the stage with a special TV star guest as his wingman, as he brings his unique culinary skills to the Pavilion Theatre. George Egg is a stand-up comedian who cooks surprisingly good food, live on stage using unconventional methods and unexpected equipment.
During an inspiring and inventive show, George will prepare a meal using, amongst other things, a wallpaper stripper, a heat gun, a paper shredder and a whole host of other power tools, office equipment, hair-dressing appliances and gardening implements. And the audience get to eat the food at the end.
A delicious, fun show of comedy and cooking, this is comedy for everyone.
His debut Edinburgh show in 2015 (George Egg: Anarchist Cook) was a total sell out and won him the Spirit Of The Fringe Award and he toured the show extensively on a 60 plus date tour throughout the UK as well as abroad at festivals in New Zealand, Estonia, Norway and Holland.
Jason Manford had this to say:
‘It’s fantastic to reveal the second wave of events for this inaugural festival, the reaction so far has been incredible, and we can’t wait to reveal even more over the coming weeks’
‘Blackpool is the home of British Comedy and along with the Winter Gardens it’s great to be able to celebrate that over a festival weekend, which we hope to grow year on year becoming one of the best comedy festivals in the world.’
