Closed for more than 150 days we're back and we've developed a brand-new Autumn programme featuring the latest cinema releases and a unique exhibition in partnership with the JORVIK Viking Centre in York as well as welcoming back the popular Mazzei Cafe and musical duo Pineapple Jack. Check out the latest events below.

Cinema

The Opera House will reopen from Thursday 03 September and is set to offer the latest new cinema releases including the hot new film from Marvel The New Mutants which will be screened alongside modern blockbusters including Military Wives Choir, Frozen 2 and Star Wars Episode V. Live cinema events are also set to be shown including Kinky Boots the Musical, 42nd Street and Elvis: That’s The Way it is.

Fearsome Craftsmen

Vikings made ordinary things to serve their everyday needs but they decorated them with designs which reveal the true spirit of the Viking Age. This exhibition allows you to discover how these Fearsome Craftsmen working over 1,000 years ago turned simple materials into complex objects.
