Winter Garden’s Christmas offering becomes highest grossing show of 2022.
As Elf opens this evening at Winter Gardens Blackpool (15th December) the start of its spectacular run has been marked with an inclusion on the ’Roll of Honour’ as the venue’s highest grossing show of 2022.
The Roll of Honour pays tribute to the theatre’s most successful shows and with 25,000 people already booked to come and see Steven Serlin’s debut as Buddy the Elf it looks like this particular Christmas wish has come true.
Buddy’s journey from the winter wonderland of Santa’s North Pole toy workshop to the bustling streets of Manhattan in search of his long lost family endeared millions the world over to Buddy The Elf, the character made famous in the feel good festive movie starring Will Ferrell.
Anthony Williams, Marketing Manager said: “Elf is such a feel-good festive family favourite, a perfect show to get in the Christmas spirit and judging by demand it will do just that for the 25,000 guests already set to come.
“It’s addition to the Roll of Honour for 2022, after such a strong year for the Opera House, is testament not just to the appeal of the show but the work that goes on behind the scenes by the fantastic production team, cast and crew.”

Elf – A Christmas Spectacular is the family show guaranteed to be good for everyone’s Elf featuring a fantastic flying sleigh, twenty foot high growing candy canes, a giant LED screen with Pixar style animated backgrounds and amazing aerial stunts.
The show also encourages lots of audience participation and a different Elf Choir featuring local children at each performance, which will mean 2500 school children will sing from the stalls throughout the run!
Jon Conway, Producer of Elf the Musical said: “Appearing on the Roll of Honour and pre-selling so many tickets is testament to the strong cast, writing and the brilliance of the original story.
“We’re looking forward to an extra special run and can’t wait to bring some Christmas cheer to the audience.”
Elf runs at the Winter Gardens from 15 to 26 December 2022. Tickets are available to book here.
