Blackpool International Soul Festival 7

Conceived in 2016, since then the festival has attracted many Northern Soul superstars from America, including Patti Austin, The Impressions, Little Anthony, Eddie Holman and Dee Dee Sharp.

For next year, we have a welcome return to the 3-day, 7-room weekender of the iconic female vocalist, Bettye Lavette.

Right now, the award-winning singer is busy promoting a brand new album, touring around the States to great acclaim and we are delighted to be able to bring this sensational vocalist to Europe.

Bettye’s show will consist of her in-demand recordings from the 1960s and 70s for labels including Calla, Karen, and Epic with several numbers never heard ‘live’ before!

Bettye will be backed by the excellent musicians, Snake Davis and the Suspicions who themselves will play a concert on the Friday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of being together!

The musical menu from the skilled team of DJs will range from fans’ favourites to the most esoteric sounds to thrill both dancers and connoisseurs alike.

For the 7th festival, we have added a brand new room featuring R+B from the sixties and that will run alongside our other rooms featuring Northern Soul, Motown, Jazz-Funk, Soulful Dancer, Rare Groove, Mod and Ska.

We will also continue with the very popular reunion sessions for legendary North-West clubs, The Twisted Wheel, Blackpool Mecca and the Manchester Ritz All-Dayers.
In the Opera House we have some surprises lined up to go alongside our ever-popular Q+A session and film show.
