The Blackpool Weekender will feature headline performances from some of the decade’s most iconic acts in the Winter Gardens’ Empress Ballroom, with further acts performing in the Arena, alongside an 80s themed quiz plus further events to be announced taking place in the Pavilion.
Throughout the weekend, artists will include ABC, the masters of stylish synth-pop; Kim Wilde, the voice behind timeless hits; Go West, purveyors of smooth, danceable 80s grooves; Toyah, the punk icon with her inimitable energy; The Christians, delivering soulful, unforgettable vocals; and Hue and Cry, blending sophisticated pop and jazz sounds; plus sophisti-pop favourites Johnny Hates Jazz and Katrina (formerly of Katrina & The Waves)!
Fans will also be treated to a very special Toyah: In Conversation event, offering a rare opportunity to go behind the music with one of the decade’s most distinctive performers.
And when the main stage lights go down, the party continues…
The Weekender will host unmissable aftershow parties featuring TV and radio presenter Jenny Powell, alongside high-energy 80s aerobic dance troupe 80s Lycra, guaranteeing wall-to-wall retro anthems, neon vibes and late-night dancefloor moments at the Winter Gardens.
The Blackpool Weekender will see the Winter Gardens transformed into a full 80s playground to transport fans straight back to the era of neon, big hair, and synth-driven anthems.
