About your dog

Winning dogs and their owners will be required for a period of rehearsals throughout November and December 2018 at a rehearsal location to be confirmed closer to the time. Please review the required dates below and tick the box to confirm you and your dog will be available.

  • Rehearsal in Blackpool: 26th November 2018 – 1st December 2018 TBC
  • Technical Rehearsals: 3rd December 2018 – 10th December 2018 TBC

We are looking to cast two dogs in the role of Toto to share the role on different performances. Toto A will be required to perform/rehearse on specific dates, with Toto B being required on alternative dates. Our current list of both Toto A and B’s required dates is provided below. Please review these dates and then tick whether you wish for your dog to be considered for Toto A or Toto B, or either.

Social Media Terms and Conditions

1. These terms and conditions relate to your application to participate in a talent search competition being run for a theatrical production provisionally entitled “The Wizard of Oz” (the "Production") which Sell A Door Theatre Company Ltd (the “Producer”) propose but do not undertake to produce for production at the Blackpool Winter Gardens in December 2018. The information given by you in your application may be used in the Production should you be selected to audition.

2. You are not eligible to apply to enter this competition if you are an employee or a close relation of an employee of Selladoor Worldwide, Blackpool Winter Gardens, or any parent, subsidiary or associated company.

3. You acknowledge and agree to abide by the rules, regulations, terms and conditions for this competition as determined by the Producer (the "Rules") and you acknowledge that the Rules may be changed (including without limitation verbally) at any time by the Producer in their sole discretion. The Producers’ decisions regarding all elements of the application process, the competition and the Production shall be final and binding.

4. Applications can be made online at Entry is closed on 10th August 2018 at 23:59 or at such other date and time as the Producer may elect. The Producers and Blackpool Winter Gardens may in their sole discretion include additional methods of application at any time and the closing dates for such methods will be as stated in the relevant promotion.

5. Please note that outside of this application process, participants may also be invited to audition for the Production by researchers acting on behalf of the Producer. Such acts will be required to go through the audition process and the Production Rules will apply.

6. The Producer, Blackpool Winter Gardens, their agents and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any online applications, telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any messages or applications not being properly received or recorded.

7. Applicants will be: 1. selected from submissions via the website and invited to attend an audition at a time and location to be decided at the sole discretion of the Producer whose decision will be final and binding; or 2. able to attend an open casting day subject to the location list provided by the Producer after submission of application. In this case or attending an open call, the applicant acknowledges that it may not be possible to audition subject to number of applicants on the day and time constraints. The Producer shall use their best endeavours to see all attendees of open calls but does not guarantee that you or your dog will be able to audition.

8. The completion of an application does not guarantee that an applicant will receive an audition or participate in the Production.

9. By submitting this application, you are guaranteeing to the Producer that your dog has no history of aggressive behaviour towards humans or other animals; and that your dog is suitable for work with groups of children.

10. By submitting this application, you are confirming that you and your dog are available for rehearsals and performances as described on the online application page subject to final confirmation by the Producer at any time.

11. You must be over 18 years of age to apply. Proof of age will be required at the auditions.

12. You must have the right to live and work in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland. You must be able to demonstrate that you have this right on request by the Producer at any time and you agree to notify the Producer immediately of any change in your immigration status.

13. By submitting this application you hereby irrevocably grant all consents necessary for the Producer to
film and record any audition and to use recordings from your application process, including without limitation yours and your dog’s image and/or voice, in connection with the Production and/or ancillary rights in the Production and to exploit the same in all media throughout the world in perpetuity without the need for payment to you. You agree to waive any moral rights that may exist in relation to your contribution. You acknowledge that you understand the style, nature and format of the Production and that we reserve the right to show all auditions whether successful or unsuccessful.

14. Should you be selected to take part in the Production you agree and undertake to enter into further contracts with the Producer and you agree to abide by the terms therein.

15. All personal details and/or information given in your application either in this form or otherwise must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading.

16. The Producer reserves the right to disqualify you if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information, have failed to abide by the Rules and/or are in breach of these terms and conditions.

17. You will not without the Producer’s prior written consent disclose, publish or discuss with any third party any information relating to the Production, your dog’s appearance in the Production, the production team or any participants in the Production nor any other information which may come to your attention including without limitation in relation to the broadcaster, the Producer or otherwise save where such information is already in the public domain.

18. You must disclose to the Producer details of any unspent criminal convictions other than driving offences which have not resulted in a ban or more serious sentence. You shall notify the Producer immediately if there are any criminal charges brought against you or if any information you provide in your application becomes inaccurate between now and the date of first transmission of the Production.

19. The Producer shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage

20. The Producer also reserves the right to cancel the competition and engagement of any winners or selected participants if made necessary by circumstances that arise outside of its control, either before or after the promotion has ended. Data Protection

21. We take your privacy very seriously and we are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. The information you provide about yourself as part of the application procedure will be used by the Producer to assess whether or not to select you for the Production. If you are successful, this information may be used in connection with the production and promotion of the Production. By submitting this application form you consent to any information you provide, including without limitation any sensitive personal information, being used for this purpose.

22. We may use the information you provide to verify your age and identity and to carry out background checks with law enforcement and government agencies. We may share your information with Blackpool Opera House as part of the selection process and in connection with the production and promotion of the Production. To the extent any personal data is shared with Blackpool Opera House, Blackpool Opera House’s privacy policy shall apply If you have ticked the relevant box on the application form we may also use the contact details provided to let you know about other Productions being made by the Producer which may be of interest to you.
