Blackpool is famous for its illuminations, and international singing star Daniel O’Donnell will be adding to its highlights and its night life once again, when he returns to perform at the Blackpool Opera House on Wednesday 25th April with his new band and special guest Mary Duff.
He is the only artist to score at least one hit in the UK album charts every year since 1988, an unprecedented and unbroken 30 year span and in doing so he has outshone everyone from Michael Jackson and Madonna to U2 and the Rolling Stones. His latest album ‘Back Home Again’, released in March 2017, entered the UK Artist Albums Artist chart at No. 10.
Daniel has now reached the UK Artist Albums Chart with more than 37 albums and has now amassed THIRTY ONE Top 30 albums over the course of his career. Daniel has also achieved eight number one hits in the UK music video/dvd charts over that period.
He received an honorary MBE from Queen Elizabeth, appeared on Top of the Pops and had his life celebrated on ‘This Is Your Life’.
Daniel was a contestant in the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC TV. “It’s such a huge show, and while it took me out of my comfort zone, I had a lot of fun doing it,” he says.
He completed major tours in the USA, Australia, Canada and his native Ireland during the past few months and audiences were blown away by his new show, with a new band, featuring a mix of the best in Trad, Country, Easy Listening and some Rock ‘n’ Roll.
This December’s tour will also include a set of Christmas classics.
His concert in Blackpool’s Opera House on Wednesday April 25th should be a most memorable one.
