The Arena is one of the Winter Gardens’ most diverse venues. Built in 1896, it has undergone several transformations, before settling into the beautiful venue with Roman-inspired decor that it is today.
As one of the more flexible venues in the complex, the Arena can be utilised for almost any type of event, although it is mostly used as a reception room within large events, such as conferences and awards ceremonies.
In total, the Arena can accommodate up to 1000 guests. It is directly accessible from the Empress Ballroom, with the two venues often being used in unison within dynamic multi-venue events.
The Arena sits adjacent to the Empress Ballroom and can be used in conjunction as a breakout space or in isolation for a wide range of events.
The venue boasts a dedicated sound room and breakout spaces.
The Arena can be accessed directly from street level for load ins.
